Fangdale Beck.

We have been keeping Alpacas in the small hamlet of Fangdale Beck since 2010. From small beginnings we fell in love with these gregarious animals and we now have over 40 Alpacas.

About Us

When we moved to Fangdale Beck we decided that we wanted to keep animals that we did not have to slaughter, that lived a long time, and that were sociable and relatively easy to handle!

This caused great hilarity among our local farmer friends!

We started off with 3 pet Alpacas, Barney, Brillo and Bam to see how we would manage keeping them. Within a year we were hooked and started to purchase Alpacas with excellent genetics to establish a small breeding herd.

We derive considerable pleasure from Alpaca ownership and look forward each year to our Cria being born, to processing our fleeces into yarn and showing our Alpacas across the country.

Nicky, who is a part-time GP, takes the lead on husbandry and all things medical while Deborah, who is an academic, takes responsibility for promoting the business.

Our Alpacas provide a welcome distraction from our busy working lives and we can often be seen taking them for walks or relaxing with an evening G&T out in the fields.

Fangdale Beck

We are based in the old village farmhouse in Fangdale Beck, a small community of houses and farms, nestled in the Bilsdale valley 10 miles from the market town of Helmsley in the North Yorkshire Moors.
